This policy explains what personal data Alpinism Peak Hub (alpinismpeakhub.com) collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. It reflects how the site works today. We will update it before introducing any new data practices such as advertising or analytics.
1. Who we are
Alpinism Peak Hub is an independent editorial publication in English focused on the economics and costs of mountain and outdoor activities. You can contact us at alpinismpeakhub@gmail.com or through the Contact page.
2. What we collect
- Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we use your email address and message to reply and keep a record of the exchange. We do not share this with third parties.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records technical information for every request — including IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps. This data is used for security, fault diagnosis and basic site operation. We do not control its retention directly.
- Cookie preferences. When you interact with our cookie notice, your choices are saved in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Analytics (future). We do not currently use analytics. If we add analytics (such as Google Analytics), this policy will be updated before they go live and consent will be requested where required.
We do not offer user accounts, comments or a newsletter. We do not sell personal data.
3. Cookies and tracking
We currently use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies today. When we add services that use non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent through our Cookie Policy and preference centre before they are set.
You can review and update your cookie preferences at any time via the Cookie preferences link in our footer.
4. Service providers
Hostinger provides our hosting and processes technical data needed to serve the site. A content delivery network may be used to improve site performance and security. These providers act on our behalf and process data only as needed for those services.
Google Search Console shows us how our site appears in Google Search — queries, pages, countries and technical issues — using aggregate data. It does not place tracking scripts on your device.
If we introduce Google AdSense or other advertising networks, they will be listed here and in the Cookie Policy before going live.
5. Advertising
The site does not currently show advertising. When advertising is introduced, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy before ads go live, and we will ask for consent where the law requires it. Advertising will never influence our editorial analysis or recommendations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access, correction and deletion. You can request to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you.
- Restriction and objection. You may ask us to limit or stop certain uses of your data.
- Opt out of advertising. You can withdraw consent for advertising cookies at any time via the Cookie preferences link in our footer.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. If you believe we have information about you, contact us at alpinismpeakhub@gmail.com.
Canadian residents (PIPEDA / Quebec Law 25): You have the right to access and correct personal information we hold, to withdraw consent for non-essential data uses, and to know about significant data practices. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including the right to data portability and to restrict certain automated decision-making.
EU and UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR): You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email alpinismpeakhub@gmail.com. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible and within any timeframe required by applicable law.
7. Data retention
Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and for a reasonable period thereafter. Server log retention is determined by our hosting provider’s standard practices. Cookie preference choices are stored in your browser’s local storage and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or the Cookie preferences link.
8. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. We will not introduce material new data practices without updating this policy first.
